100 things you never knew about me . . . . .

1. My middle name is Sue.
2. ... because my mother really wanted to name me Kay but that was the name of a brand of tissue in the 40's, so she switched it to Sue. I don't like my name, either, I never have, but then who does...
3. I've been bleaching my hair since my mid-30's
4. My girlfriend pierced my ears when I was sixteen in study hall, using a needle and a potato.
5. I was a cheerleader and prom queen. But there were only 28 kids in my class, so there wasn't a lot to choose from.

I wore glasses in elementary school, had I not, my eyes would have crossed.
7. My favorite color is yellow, bright Liz yellow.

9. I can raise my left eyebrow independently of my right.
10. I took piano lessons for five years as a child.
11. I've loved classical music since I was a little girl. Daddy bought me several classical albums and I played them nightly when I went to bed.
12. I didn't go to kindergarten, and my first pencil container was a Fendricks Cigar Box.
13. I've never met anyone famous, but I saw Cher in concert. What a memory!. I've seen lots of celebrities in Vegas, lots of other concerts, too, but nobody ever compared to Cher. And John gave me the tickets, sweet son of mine!
14. I didn't think Martha Stewart should have gone to jail. I feel strongly about this, I didn't believe she deserved to be in prison. She drives me crazy when she says "herbs" and pronounces the "H". hhhhhhhherbs - arughhhhhhhhhhh!
15. Pretty Woman is my all time favorite movie, even though I don't particulary like Julia Roberts anymore.
16. I was raised in the country in a house with no bathroom, no running water, only a pump in the kitchen.
17. I always wanted a little Tweety tattoed on my butt. *sigh* I never did and now it's too late. That Tweety would be SO wrinkled now.
18. My nickname in high school was Barnaby. John and Ryan, bet you didn't know that!
19. I had a Chihuahua when I was a teenager named Speedy Gonzales.
20. I've never had stitches or a broken bone. Of course I have no feet and am missing fingers now, but nothing has ever been broken. Go figure.
21. I was stung on the rear by six yellow jackets as a teenager when I sat on their nest on a log. OUCH!
22. I can't go to sleep at night without a bath.
23. I had an imaginary friend named Jeannie South. She drove a little red convertible and used to come visit me from Chicago. I was five at the time.
24. When I was in high school our school had a coal furnace and the entire school reeked of sulphur in the winter. I can still remember that awful taste in my mouth.
25. My father and I never got in an argument in my entire life. He was such a good Daddy. We used to jitterbug in the living room when I was a little girl and he called me his "Sweet Georgia Brown."
26. My favorite author is LaVerle Spencer. She's retired now, but I loved her books, and read everything she ever wrote. My two faves were "Twice Loved" and "The Hellion."
27. My favorite book as a child was "The Trolley Car Family." I bought it on eBay a few years ago and reread it again. I must have read that book a dozen times as a little girl.
28. I used to be a huge Burt Reynolds fan until he made a total ass out of himself when he divorced Loni Anderson. That man has NOT aged well at all. What a jerk! Same with Kenny Rogers, I liked him until he made all those kinky 800 number sex calls.
29. I'm a NPR freak, I listen to it every day.
30. I have been on the world wide web since the week it was first available in Evansville. I was on Evansville Online before that. I am a total computer geek.
31. I love nature, trees, grass, animals. I love the smell of the country, new mown hay, the sounds of crickets and frogs . .

33. I'm a free spirit, totally disorganized, very spontaneous, start projects and burn out quickly.

42. I held the school record for typing speed in high school. I typed 87 words a minute for five minutes with no mistakes on a manual typewriter. For real I did! The sly brown fox jumped quickly over the lazy sleeping dog . . . . .
43. I played the clarinet in grade school and was constantly breaking reeds. New ones cost $.50, and that was expensive in the early 60's..
44. I remember sitting in my Mother's car in the rain when I was 13 years old listening to Petula Clark singing "Downtown." I thought it was a great song. Mostly what I remember about Petula Clark was that ugly raised mole on the side of her chin. I wonder why she never had it removed?
45. I was a Brownie in 2nd grade.
46. I was the co-editor of my high school newspaper. I still have some of the issues stored in the attic.
47. I've taken two years of Spanish and cannot form a coherent sentence other than "Como esta usted?"
48. I loved Chanel No. 5 as a teenager. All my friends wore Heaven Scent, but not me, I was a Chanel girl.
49. I also wore Tangee lipstick. Do you remember Tangee? It was orange and had a distinctive smell.
50. I was born by C-section, the day after Thanksgiving in 1949.

52. I play a mean game of pinball. I've always loved pinball and can probably beat you at it.
53. I've been wearing makeup since 7th grade. I've always loved it, the more the better, but I do try and tone it down now that I'm older.

57. I also love porkchops, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. I just LOVE corn, but only fresh and frozen, not canned.

69. I went to St. Louis on my senior trip. We went to the zoo and saw the Three Stooges in person.

75. My Mother worked in the drug store and made the best cherry cokes EVER. Real fountain cherry cokes with hand chipped ice!

82. One of my favorite things to do is going to the library. Books are a wonderful thing, and I'm trying to expand my horizons with worthwile books instead of just reading trash.
83. I want to visit France, just rent a car and drive thru the small villages, enjoy the food, eat the bread, I want to visit Tuscany, too.
84. I have this thing about puppy breath. I ADORE puppy breath, it's just the BEST! Women understand this, guys don't get it. Definitely a girl thing.
85. My favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey. Followed by pistachio, then strawberry, then chocolate almond, then butter pecan.
86. My favorite album as a teenager was Janis Joplin's Pearl. My all time favorite album is Natalie Cole's Unforgettable.
87. I love big band music, Sinatra, Nat King Cole, music of the 40's is wonderful, but I absolutely HATE oldies music from the 60's.
88. I love gardening and I'm not scared of wasps or spiders. I am, however, terrified of snakes.

90. My very first job was at Ralston Purina in St. Louis, Mo.
91. That lasted about, oh, six months. I worked in a lab office surrounded by baby chicks. cheep, cheep, cheep, all day long, but I got all the free eggs I wanted.
92. My second job was at RCA Magnetic Products in Indianapolis, Indiana. That's where I met hubby. I was his boss' secretary.

96. I think I have always been a good Mother to my sons. I love them both dearly. and if I have any regrets it's that I didn't spend enough time with them as children, really focusing on what they were saying to me. Just looking them directly in the eye and listening to them. I try to do that now, it's never to late you know. . .
97. My favorite cartoon character is Yackey Doodle from the Yogi Bear tv show in the 60's. There is something about that little guy's voice.
98. I always tell my kids I love them when I hang up the telephone. You never know what tomorrow will bring, and I always want them to leave them with that thought. It's a good thing, telling the people you care about, how much they mean to you.
99. I'm absolutely crazy about my daughter-in-law. Linds and now, I have sweet little Abby to love!
